We thank Floyd Blinsky of Yakima, Washington for originating the idea of having Shiners Hospital for Children messages displayed on the sides of his own semi-trailers.
The fundraising opportunity was then promoted through Zor Funsters, the local Shriners Unit in Wisconsin, and was a huge success. With the help of Zor Funsters member Terry McShane, the fundraiser was expanded to a national program. Owners of Sparhawk Trucking Mark and Tom Sparhawk and owner of ProSticker.com Steve Livernash were eager to help.
The Zor Funsters have made this a quality fundraising program.
Shriners Hospitals for Children, Zor Funsters along with Sparhawk Trucking, Inc. and ProSticker.com, two companies in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., teamed up to make this unique advertising opportunity available. Sparhawk Trucking has donated space on the sides of their semi-trailers to help promote Shriners Hospitals for Children. ProSticker.com has donated the time and talent to create the look and then manufacture vinyl artwork to be displayed on the semi-trailers, creating these rolling billboards that help to raise awareness of Shriners Hospitals for Children, as well the sponsors through ad space.
According to Wayne M. Witczak, Past Director of Corporate Sponsorships and Giving for Shriners Hospitals for Children, "This is one of the most unique and inexpensive opportunities for businesses to show their support for our well-known charitable organization and gain exposure for their own businesses at the same time."
